Great article! Informative and made me laugh. I remember being shocked at the bathrooms in Italy - no toilet seats AND you had to pay to use them - anywhere from train stations to museums and even some restaurants! I didn't always have change so this became an issue in urgent situations like yours... sigh. Apparently, they say the lack of a toilet seat is cleaner.. who knows. At least there was toilet paper ;)
