Thank you for this - I wish everyone could read it. The average person has no idea how fatphobic our society is because we are so used to placing moral value on body size. Southwest has a policy where you are allowed to purchase 2 seats (for the cost of one) if you need to from a comfort level. Most people aren't aware of this. I am not sure about other airlines, but it is nice that SW acknowledges that airplane seats are not made for larger bodied people (something most people take for granted but it is simply a part of the discrimination people in larger bodies face).
