Thank you so much for sharing, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Your dog will always have his most intimate and strongest connection to you - regardless of any time that passes. There is no wrong choice. You know in your heart what you can handle and it is important to listen to that and try not to judge yourself either way. It is not selfish of you AT ALL to want your dog with you as you near the end of your life, or for you to have a friend care for him if that's what you think is best or what is needed. Dogs are very adaptable to whatever lifestyle is presented to them. They are also intuitive and know what is going on and respect the situation so if he were to be back with you, I am almost sure he would be thrilled to simply be by your side. I wish you the best of luck with your treatment and hope you are able to spend lots of time with Snowy regardless of where he is living. Xoxo
