This Body Brought To You By Eating Whatever the Fuck I Want

Changing the trajectory of social media one photo at a time. You in?

This photo and article's title are used with permission from a friend’s post on social media. This brave woman is Cindy Keeney, but she wouldn't consider herself brave: She is bold, unapologetic, and never afraid to speak her mind. Simply put, she is THE. MOST. AUTHENTIC. PERSON I’ve ever known. And this photo is EVERYTHING.

Like many of us, I’m so tired of seeing posts only consisting of perfect bikini bods positioned just so, or the classic before/after photo of weight loss with a miserable looking before face and glowing after photo now that they are X pounds less. They’re everywhere and one of the reasons I’ve unfollowed many people: I refuse to support content that subtly promotes fat-shaming.

Let me be clear: I have nothing against showing off your body. We should all be proud of our bodies. People work hard to sculpt their bodies and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. What I have a problem with is that we’re not on a level playing field.

What helps is photos like these. We MUST see more of them.

We need to normalize seeing women of all sizes in photos instead of labeling them as brave when they show themselves in…
