Wow, this piece really hit home. I have struggled with letting go of the practice of Bikram Yoga. It has been a part of my identity for over 10 years and it is something I am good at. However, over the past year+ with quarantine, my studio transitioned to Zoom classes and eventually closed their physical location. I really wanted to like the Zoom classes, but something about being home didn't feel like the mental getaway I receive from yoga out of my home. I have been beating myself up for the fact that I haven't been taking classes as it's been such a large part of my identity, but I think your article made me realize that it's OK to et go of something that is no longer serving me.
